Spruance Hall Auditorium

CHALLENGE

The Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Gary Roughead, tasked the Naval War College (NWC) leadership with updating the Spruance Hall Auditorium for the International Sea Power Symposium, one of the largest gatherings of senior Navy and Coast Guard leaders.

SOLUTION

The project team led by SSC Atlantic, Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and industry partners, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) worked together to transform Spruance Hall Auditorium into a high-tech facility that included high-definition video production capabilities, video teleconferencing, audience microphones, high fidelity sound systems and enhanced lighting and acoustics. Extensive AMX control solutions were installed throughout the auditorium, green room, projector room, A/V booth room and three adjoining seminar rooms.

IMPACT

"Our clients wanted an out-of-the-box, interactive lecture hall. We custom designed many of the new additions and added AMX control to link all of the previously separate systems into an intuitive touch panel user interface that is easy for our clients to use on a daily basis."
